Without going into all the settings you have to choose from in the Photoshop Elements 10 Print and More Options dialog boxes, look at printing a photo and managing color. For the following example, an Epson printer is used. If you have a different printer, some of the dialog boxes and terms may appear different.
With a little careful examination of the Print dialog box, you should be able to apply the following steps for any printer:
- Mar 23, 2018 AKA: What is this 'Epson IJ Printer 07' color profile, or what does 'ICM mode' mean. Warning: My instructions here are Windows only. There's probably a way to do this on Mac, but the color settings UI is a bit different on OSX so someone who actually owns any Apple products will probably have to chime in on how to adapt this there.
- We noticed a reference to Epson Print Layout software in the original P600 press release. The software can be downloaded from Epson America here. The program is quite remarkable, with controls for print layout, setup and templates, and printer color management with automatic soft.
- May 28, 2010 - The warning is poorly worded. It means 'Turn off the PRINTER color management and let Colorsync manage colors.' Thus on the greyed out screen you will see that Colorsync is selected. To use a printer profiler you normally print a target sheet. Your software should tell you what settings to use.
Click on the buttons below to get the correct colour profiles for your Epson printer. When the page opens, all you have to do is select the ‘driver and software’ tab, then simply open the ICC profile archive via the relevant download button.

- Click More Options and choose Color Management in the More Options dialog box.In the Color Management area, choose how to manage color when you print files.
- From the Color Handling drop-down menu, select Printer Manages Color. Click OK.This choice uses your current workspace color — either sRGB or Adobe RGB (1998) — and later converts the color from your workspace to the printer output file when you open the Print dialog box.
- Set the printer preferences.
- On Windows, click Printer Preferences in the More Options dialog box. The printing preferences dialog box for your printer driver opens. Proceed to Step 8. Note that you can also click OK in the More Options dialog box and click Change Settings (item 2 in the right panel of the Print dialog box) to open the same printer preferences dialog box.
- On the Macintosh, you don’t have a Printer Preferences button in the More Options dialog box and there is no button for Change Settings in the Print dialog box. Just set the color settings in the More Options dialog box and click OK, then click Print. The Mac OS X Print dialog box opens. You need to make two choices here. First, open the pop-up menu below the Pages item in the Print dialog box and choose Print Settings. From the Media Type pop-up menu, choose the paper for your output. The second choice Macintosh users need to make is the selection for Color Management. Open the Print Settings pop-up menu and choose Color Management. Leave the default setting at Color Controls; this setting is used when the printer manages color. Click Print.
- (Windows only) Set print attributes.Select a paper type, such as Epson Premium Glossy (or another paper from the Type drop-down menu that you may be using). Then click the Best Photo radio button. Now, it’s time to color-manage your file. This step is critical in your print-production workflow.

- (Windows only) Make your choices in the advanced printing preferences dialog box. Here are the most important choices:
- Select a paper type. In this example, a letter-size photo is printed on Epson Premium Glossy paper. Those settings are chosen in the Paper & Quality Options section of the dialog box. Choose the same paper here as you did in Step 8.
- Turn on color management. Because you’re letting the printer driver determine the color, you need to be certain that the Color Controls radio button is active. This setting tells the printer driver to automatically select a printer profile for the paper type you selected.
- Set the color mode. Motorola cps software for mac. Don’t use Epson Vivid. This choice produces inferior results on photos. Choose Best Photo, the Epson Standard, or Adobe RGB, depending on your printer.
If you frequently print files using the same settings, you can save your settings by clicking the Save Setting button. - (Windows only) To print the photo, click OK and then click OK again in the Print dialog box.Your file is sent to your printer. The color is converted automatically from your source workspace of sRGB or Adobe RGB (1998) to the profile the printer driver automatically selects for you.
